Package Design
Packaging design carried the brand foundation into physical form, creating a versatile and recognizable system that could support different scents, collections, and product types.
Overview
The packaging needed to elevate handmade products while strengthening brand recognition across a growing range of scents and collections, and remain durable for retail handling and feasible for small-batch production.
The challenge
Design packaging for bar soap that allows the product design to remain visible, withstand repeated handling, and stay affordable to produce at small scale
The Solution
A refined paper sleeve system designed to secure the label, showcase the bar, and remain durable in retail environments
Prototypes
Prototypes were used to test visibility, handling, and labeling requirements before committing to a final structure. Early testing showed that customers wanted access to ingredient information while still being able to see and feel the product.
To align with the brand’s sustainability goals, all packaging concepts remained plastic-free. Paper prototypes were developed and refined to evaluate fit, durability, and shelf presence before moving into production.
The Final Design
The final design is a paper sleeve that wraps the soap bar and is secured with jute string, creating a gift-ready presentation while keeping the product visible.
The packaging balances visual appeal with durability and easy assembly for small-batch production. Since its launch, it has received consistent positive feedback from both customers and retailers.
Design Adaptation
As soap designs became more sculptural, the sleeve was adapted to better showcase the top of the bar while maintaining brand consistency and material efficiency.
Candle Packaging Strategy
Candle packaging required a different design approach, where the container itself became part of the brand expression. Jar style, material, and color were used intentionally to signal seasonality, collection identity, and product hierarchy, while the label system remained consistent to maintain brand recognition.
A core year-round vessel established familiarity, while seasonal and limited collections introduced alternate finishes and forms to signal something special. For select collections, the container and label were developed together as a distinct visual system, allowing the packaging to function as both product and decor.
